Family Dinner

HAPPY BIRTHDAY JUDY AND JIM (JUDY'S DAD)!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY JOHN AND DAVID!

CUTE FACES!

HAPPY ANNIVERSARY NONNA AND GRANDPA - 55 YEARS!!!!

Random photos

Gianna is starting to take in interest with some of Gemma's toys. She found a doll crib and was playing with it for a while. The next think I saw was this....Notice her foot in the above pic...it was a tight squeeze!

Little children imitate what they see. The memory that sticks with me happened when Gemma was about 3 and Spencer was 2. We were outside playing - Gemma in the toy car and Spencer in the playhouse. Gemma "drove" up to the playhouse, knocked on the window and asked for french fries. I quickly changed my ways. However, I'm now seeing something from Gianna...she is always "talking" on the phone. Very long conversations with such dramatic body language. I wonder where she gets that from????

Gotta love Minnesota?

For those who may be out of state reading this...we received a dumping of snow today. At last check it was 5 inches. They fell in just 3 hours. I left the house at 3:15 to pick up the kids from school - it's only a 5 minutes drive, but I thought I'd take my time and leave early. Well, good thing I did....I didn't arrive until 4:00 - I'm suppose to be there by 3:40!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I wasn't the only parent late, but I felt so rushed and stressed. I can't count how many times I got stuck - I'm just thankful I didn't get into an accident!!!

Spring is just around the corner...spring is just around the corner....

Not in the mood

I haven't been in much of a blogging mood with all that is going on with the family. Nothing much is new...over the past 6 days Gianna and Spencer were diagnosed with ear infections, Gemma had a tummy bug and all three were cursed with nasty colds. Overall, pretty minor compared to others. Gianna and Spencer are responding nicely to their meds and Gemma is feeling better after a day home from school yesterday.

David's birthday was a bit of a bust since we couldn't go to dinner. (Taking sick children out to dinner is not my idea of fun). I also think our moods have been altered a bit...I know my mind is preoccupied with other things, I can only imagine how David's mind has been working.

I'll try to have a cute pic of the kids up in the next day or two. Maybe I'll be in a more cheery, blogging kinda mood.

Happy Birthday David!

Today is my sweetie's 38th birthday. Unfortunately, it started with Gemma throwing-up. She's feeling better, but I think our dinner at Outback will turn into Outback to-go.

If I Could Turn Back Time

Here are some photos from our vacation to Puerto Rico one year ago this week. If only I could turn back the hands of time...

I love this photo of the kids. This was taken in Old San Juan at the fort. (I forgot the name of it!)

While in Old San Juan, we had to stop at Burger King to feed the kids...I know pathetic! Gemma is showing off her happy meal toy.

Gianna was only 4.5 months old during this trip. She was an amazing little traveler! Here she is napping while David and the kids were in the pool.

Another favorite of mine.

David won't appreciate me posting this photo of him - but it makes me smile!

What a happy face!

One day we went for a walk in a little town and decided to stop for a drink.

This was our last day in PR. One of the few pictures with me in it!

Sleep secrets?

Does anyone have any idea how to get an almost 17 month old down for a nap without involving 15 minutes of crying? (I should add - she has a doozy of a cold, a cough and an ear infection.)

Update on prayer request....

An update on John....It seems that the cancer is in his lungs (he's never smoked). He had another scan today and will be having a biopsy on Monday. Hopefully the doctors will have a game-plan by Tuesday. Continue to pray for him and his family. Pray the cancer is in the early stages and will respond to treatment.

John said his up for the fight....we need to help fight too.

Comments anyone?

I sometimes wonder, "Who reads my blog?".

Feel free to leave a comment. At least I'll know more than just my mom is reading! ;)

Too funny!

Fortunately for me, I don't have anyone in my life that doesn't understand what being a mom is about....maybe it's because I spend too much time relaxing...

Read and enjoy! (click on the article to enlarge)

Prayer request

I'm not the type to ask for people to pray. But I'm asking now. I'm asking for those I love.

David's oldest brother Dan will be having a triple by-pass next week. I ask that you pray for a complication-free surgery and a speedy recovery. He had an angiogram last week, so we knew that by-pass was a possibility...now it's a reality.

David's second oldest brother, John, has just been told he has cancer. I don't have many details; I spoke with John this afternoon and he was going to be having another CT today. More tests will give more answers. Pray that the cancer is at the earliest stage possible and that it responds to treatments quickly.

Please pray for these men and their loving familes who are going through a very stressful and scary time.

Finally, please pray for my mother and father in law. I can't imagine how they are feeling.

Enjoying lunch

I'm so tired.......

Well, it seems that waking up between 4:30 and 5am is becoming a regular activity for my precious little girl. David and I are trying to adjust her sleeping schedule per Dr. Ferber (see old post). Today she and I were up at 4:35am and she has only slept about a total of 90 minutes today. We've been depriving her of napping with the hope that at 9pm when we put her to bed, she'll sleep until 6am - at the earliest!

PRAY FOR US PLEASE!!!

4:30am

I put Gianna to bed at 7:30 last night. At 4:30 this morning, she decided she was rested....

I just put her down at 9:20....and I hear her talking in her crib. This is going to be one long day....

Winter Carnival

Since the weather was so beautiful on Saturday, we decided to go to the Torchlight Parade in downtown St. Paul for the close of the Winter Carnival. We left at 4:30 to drop off Gianna with Bamma...we figured it would be easier for her and us!
After we dropped off the little one, we walked to Cossetta's for dinner....however we weren't the only people with that idea. Gemma and I stayed in the pizza line while Spencer and David went to the hot food line. That was a mistake. In the time it took for Gemma and I to wait for pizza (about 10 minutes), find a place to sit, eat our pizza slowly and use the restroom - David and Spencer were just getting their food! Fortunately, they didn't breath while eating and were were out of there quickly.

Gemma is enjoying her big, greasy slice of cheese pizza.

We walked back to the parade and arrived just in time for it to start. (David is carrying Spencer's left-overs!)

Here are David and the kids...we were right in front! The parade was your typical parade - we saw the police cars and fire engines...and every towns royalty within a 100 mile radius. It didn't matter though - we were having a great time just being together. I wished Gianna could have been with us, but I think at 16 months old, she had more fun at Bamma's house.

Spencer took this photo...not the greatest angle, but it's nice to have a photo of the two of us together!
