Happy Birthday Daddy.

Slumber Party!!!

I survived Gemma's first slumber party!  There were originally going to be three friends, but one was going out of town for the weekend.  So it was just me,Gemma and two of her besties.  Spencer was spending the night with Joshua and Gianna was with my mom!

We started out our evening swimming at the Y (I ran 2 miles while they swam) and then we picked up Subway on the way home.  And for dessert - ICE CREAM CAKE!

The girls stayed entertained with Just Dance on the Wii, doing their nails, other random girlie things and watching movies.  At 2am, I could barely keep my eyes open and told them it was time for bed.  I was asleep within minutes and didn't hear from them until 9am - I of course was awake by 7am!

The girls had fun and I would be willing to do it again - though, I'd like to wait until her next birthday!  I need to catch up on my sleep!

The Costumes are Here!!!

The girls' dance recital is in a few weeks and the costumes arrived today.  Their teacher had the girls wear them for class today.  Gianna LOVED hers!

Gemma didn't want to pose, so all of her photos were "action" shots.  I'll get more at the recital!

Duty Calls

Today David leaves for a 3 week tour in Naples, Italy.

It's hard to feel bad for him since he'll be in Italy. ;)

What makes this really special is he is going to visit his mom's family next weekend.  I wish I could be their, but my duty calls for me to be on the home front taking care of the three cuties in the photo with David.  It might not be glamours, but it's our life and I wouldn't change it!

A Spring Afternoon

Today started out cold and rainy, but by the afternoon the sun was shining! While Spencer was at a birthday party, David and the girls decided to go for a bike ride.
Gianna loves her bike trailer! It's so funny to think that when we first got the trailer

11

Today, my baby turns 11 years old!  She woke up to breakfast in bed made by her daddy!

In the evening, we had a family dinner.  Some friends wanted to stop by with homemade gifts for the birthday girl.  And for cake and ice cream of course!
Gemma and her yummy cake, that I did NOT bake.
 The kids with their grandparents.
My mom has a really hard time taking a photo without tilting her head.
Mommy, daddy and baby.....she isn't a baby anymore......  : (

Easter Sunday

We had a beautiful Easter with David's family.  The kids enjoyed an egg hunt and everyone ate too much - a perfect holiday!

Here are the kids before heading out for the hunt.  Uncle Dan was trying to sneak in on the fun!

Spencer looking goofy.

Gianna might have had some help finding all of her eggs - but she didn't mind!
Here is everyone with all of the eggs collected.

Before we left, we finally had a family picture.  My babies are growing up!!!

When we got home, the neighbors were outside.  Jonas was out driving his car - Gianna wanted a photo behind the wheel.

 Out for a drive!

And while the little one's were "driving" around, the big kids took advantage and rode their bikes.

It was a great day!

Gold Belt

A couple of years ago, Spencer asked to take kung-fu lessons.  Then David was deployed and the whole idea was pushed to the back burner.  At the beginning of this school year, we looked into lessons - which were really expensive.  Then we stumbled upon lessons at a local rec center FOR FREE!

David (a black belt in karate) and Spencer signed up immediately.  Within a couple of months, Gemma signed up too.

Fast forward to April - all three earned their gold belts!

Apparently it is not appropriate to smile and look happy after earning a belt.

Easter Program

Gianna had her Easter program at Church with the other preschoolers.  Unfortunately, this is the only good photo of the day.  She did a great job and was cute to watch.  I should note, we went to Dairy Queen after the service where she dripped chocolate ice cream all over the front of her dress....oh well, I should have known better!
