David decided not to go in costume, but Gianna debuted her giraffe costume and Gemma went as a crazed Italian soccer fan. She borrowed the jersey and "helmet" from her daddy. Spencer originally was a knight, but he got tired of carrying the shield, sword and helmet so it ended up in the stroller.
Once the 5K started, we knew we had about 25 minutes to wait until we would be seeing David, so we walked over to the playground and played!
I'm not quite sure what Gemma was trying to do here - but I know she had fun!
We saw David coming around the bend, so the kids and I ran to the curb so he could hear us cheering for him. This was the best I could do with a photo - not too shabby! He ran it in under 30 minutes - which is great considering he really hasn't be running on a regular basis since JUNE! He had been running regularly since March and participated in several races in DC, but then we showed up in June and his work-out schedule suffered.

I'm so glad we were there this time to cheer him on! We can't wait for the next race - and you never know.....David might have a running partner!
After that great morning, we stopped for lunch and were home by 2:00. Just in time to start yard work! While Gianna and I stayed in the house baking cookies look what these guys were doing....
