Happy St. Patrick's Day

3:24 am

Pardon the quality of this photo - it was taken with my Mac book.....at 3:24 am!!!!!!!

Gianna woke up around 1:15 this morning and was just awake. Not crying or upset or angry. Just awake. She would play quietly for a while and then call for me. I changed her diaper, refilled her sippy cup, covered her with blankets, wiped her "sticky" hands, removed her socks.

Then around 3:15 she announced she was "hungy" - which means hungry. So we came downstairs and I made her a nutella sandwich, which explains the mess you see on her little face. My laptop was on the table, so I decided I had to take a picture to remember the moment.

After Gianna ate her sandwich, we went back to bed. However, it was 4:30 by the time she went back to sleep. She and I were going to the Children's Museum today.....I think we'll save that for tomorrow!

Spring Has Sprung

The kids decided to enjoy a beautiful spring day outside. It was actually 65' this afternoon!!!
Yes, that is Spencer with the storm trooper mask. The kids were playing Star Wars....shocker!

Spring has sprung!

(Snow is in the forecast for next Sunday)

Coffee Time

David and I are not coffee drinkers.

However, Gianna has enjoyed a sip or two with Titi Evelyn on occasion. (Truth be told, she has her own little cup at my mom's house.)

This morning, Gianna decided to go into her kitchen and make some coffee for us.

I must say, she was a wonderful hostess. My coffee cup never emptied! I think she refilled my cup at least 10 times!

Art Class

Gianna and I started her art class a few weeks ago. She has so much fun and looks forward to it each week. Painting is one of her favorite activities, but she decided to start with beading today. I love how you can see the concentration on her face...too cute!
After a few minutes of beading, Gianna did manage to go over to the painting table. After painting she made a bird with a clothes pin and feathers (I forgot it at class), played in the tub of rice and then back to beading. The class is an hour long - but it is the fastest hour of our day.
I love that she gets to try so many different activities - and I don't have to clean them up!

Tooth Fairy

Spencer lost another tooth last night!

When I picked him (and Gemma) up from school, he told me it was really loose - and it was, just barely hanging on. However, I am a wimp and can't deal with teeth. I can handle my child vomiting, having diarrhea or bleeding - but loose teeth hanging on by a "thread" gross me out!

So, instead of heading straight home from school, we stopped to see Grandpa (the official tooth extractor of the "M" family). He was able to get Spencer's tooth very easily. Spencer said it didn't even hurt! So we returned home with his tooth safe in a zip-lock bag.

When Spencer woke this morning, he found $5.00 under his pillow! Personally, I think that is too much for a tooth, but I have a feeling that was the smallest bill the Tooth Fairy had on her!

Snuggle Time

Gianna typically wakes up around 7am (give or take 30 minutes). Either way, she is always awake before Gemma and Spencer. Our routine is to go downstairs (Gianna still sleeps in our room upstairs) put on a cartoon and have some milk. After a few minutes, Gianna decides it's snuggle time. This morning, she decided it was Gemma's turn for a snuggle.

And her big sister loved it!

ps - I know Gianna is 2 1/2 years old and is drinking milk from a bottle. SO WHAT!

I told the kids to read.

This is how I found Spencer.

Sick Part II

This is how Gianna looked yesterday. So pathetic!

However, she actually slept last night and looked much better this morning. She did wake up once (at 4:00 am) and felt warm. After a dose of ibuprofen and some water she slept until 7am. (7am is the equivalent to noon for a regular person)

I decided a trip to the doctor was in order - even though she slept better, I just had a feeling and wanted her ears checked. Spencer came with us too - he's had a cold/cough for over a week, but started complaining about his ears on Sunday.
Here we are waiting for the doctor - happy (but sick) faces.
I told the kids to make a sad face - Gianna complied, but Spencer couldn't stop smiling!
While waiting for the doctor, Gianna was telling Spencer "knock, knock" jokes. It was pretty funny to listen to.

The doctor listened to their lungs - and they were clear. However - they both have ear infections in both ears! Poor kids!

And now this is what we have in our refrigerator. The good thing is, it's the same medicine and same dosage for the same amount of time. I think the doctor was trying to be nice to me and I appreciate it!

Sick

This is what a cold with a fever and very little sleeping last night looks like.
