Winter Carnival

The third graders performed at the last award assembly at school - so of course Gianna and I were there!
After the assembly, we all lined up in the hallways to watch The Winter Carnival Parade. Unfortunately I didn't get great pictures of the floats.

I know this was a pathetic post, but I just haven't been in a blogging kinda mood lately. Hopefully that will change!

More Gifts

My nephew Stephen and his wife Amanda who live in Kansas, sent Christmas gifts to the kids. They were given the movie Despicable Me (which has been watched too many times to count already!) and this really cool stargazer book.

Thank you so much for thinking of us and sending the great gifts!

(This post is about 3 weeks late.....)

Christmas Gifts

Yes, we are alive.

The kids were each given gift-cards from a couple of family members for Christmas. Just two days after Christmas, the kids and I went to Target to spend the money. Here is what they bought.....
Gemma found a princess cake and kitchen set - both on clearance! That's my girl!
Spencer bought another Lego set.....shocker!
And Gianna bought a Barbie and matching dress-up dress. She already had the movie, so she was very excited when she stumbled on these. I should note - her purchases were also on clearance!
And just about an hour later Spencer had completed building his new Lego set!

Pinewood Derby Races

Since Spencer joined Boy-scouts in September, he has repeatedly talked about participating in the Pinewood Derby Races. This has actually been on his mind since watching Joshua race last year!

Tonight was his night. David and Spencer worked on his car for the past month. It started out as a block of wood and was transformed into a racing machine! I should note, David also helped Joshua and Gemma (siblings are allowed to race) build cars too.

And here is Spencer accepting his trophy for 1st place!!! After five races - he was undefeated!
I love this photo - after Spencer received his trophy, he immediately extended his hand! His Pack-leader wasn't expecting it!
Here are David and the boys with the cars. The car that David is holding was for Gemma - however it was disqualified the night before during the check-in process. Unfortunately it wasn't something that could be easily fixed so Gemma ended up racing Joshua's car from last year!
My boys!
Word is - since he won his Packs race, he now gets to race in the District races!
